Parade Ushers in Holiday Season

Santa came to town last Monday night and brought friends with him.

Jacksonville’s 59th annual Christmas Parade made its way through town offering the hundreds who lined the streets an early glimpse of the holidays. Superintendent and Grand Marshall Tony Wood and his lovely wife Ann led the parade in a shiny red convertible.

Other units featured the high school band, floats with eager children and Arnold Drive Elementary’s dance team. The dance team received first place for its participation.

The parade was hit with the children. “Hi Santa,” many called in chorus.

“Ho! Ho! Ho!” the man in the red suit and white beard said.
