Favorite Book Character Day

Students at Bayou Meto Elementary celebrated fall fun with a parade of favorite book characters. Students and staff dressed as their favorite characters and paraded throughout the school.

“Fall is a great opportunity for children to learn to use their imagination in ways that allow them to explore the possibilities of different life roles or fictitious characters,” said Gary Beck, principal. “This special day of celebration encourages them to find their favorite books and really look at the characters and say, I can do that, I can be like that.”

Even the cafeteria manager and her staff got in on the fun. They dressed as characters from The Wizard of Oz and were fantastically fashionable.

Central office staff and other special guests were on hand to read their favorite books with classes.
