Celebrating National School Breakfast Week

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and schools provide millions of breakfasts to hungry children every single school day!  This gives us reason to celebrate!

Every March, the nation celebrates National School Breakfast Week. National School Breakfast Week was launched in 1989 to raise awareness of the availability of the School Breakfast Program to all children.

Governor Asa Hutchinson has proclaimed March as Arkansas School Breakfast Month!

Governor Hutchinson’s proclamation increases public awareness, provides school food service administrators a wonderful opportunity to promote the breakfast program, benefiting thousands of students in Arkansas.

JNPSD’s Director of Child Nutrition Clint Walker spoke of the District’s Community Eligibility Program where all students eat free at today’s press conference at the Capitol.

Titan Theater Company to Present Guys and Dolls

Jacksonville High School’s Titan Theater Company will present the classical musical comedy Guys and Dolls, March 10 and 11, 7pm in the Sandy Reed Auditorium at Jacksonville Middle School located at 718 Harris Road in Jacksonville.

Guys and Dolls, based on the short stories and characters of Damon Runyon, tells a comedic tale of the gamblers, showgirls and gangsters of the 1930s New York underworld. Director Jane Balgavy said “Guys and Dolls is a great show for any theatre to do, because it is full of comedy with a lot of classic one-liners; and the writing is fantastic, providing many opportunities for character roles. It is a really fun show for the whole family.”

Adult admission is $8 and students 17 and under pay $5.

JNPSD has an App!

The latest news and information about Jacksonville North Pulaski schools is now available on smartphones and mobile devices with a new mobile app. Jacksonville North Pulaski School District is partnering with Blackboard to expand its communications outreach with a mobile app that is now available in the online iTunes® and Google Play® app stores for free.

The mobile app will offer a constantly updated feed of District news and events with photos and links to the District’s website. The app can also be customized by the user by selecting the schools they are most interested in for news and updates. Users can also choose to receive push notifications to get breaking news and updates about school closures, calendar changes, or even sports updates.

Parents will be able to track information on their students including grades and attendance, school menus and bus information. They will use their HAC log in and password.

Download the new app in 3 easy steps:

1. On your smartphone, go to the iTunes App Store® or Google Play®

2. Search Jacksonville North Pulaski School District

3. Then select our JNPSD app for free download

We condensed a four-month app build process into six weeks, and want all employees to take advantage of this new communications tool. We are still working behind the scenes on the data that will make this a fully functional tool for you, parents and the community.

Stay connected with everything that is JNPSD!
