JHS AFJROTC Cadets Commemorate WWII "Bataan Death March

On Saturday, April 12th, Jacksonville joined forces with Beebe, Bryant, Cabot, LR Central, and Pine Bluff AFJROTC cadets to try and complete a 14-mile walk/jog/run on LRAFB in only 4 hours. Cadet Taylor Slusher was the first JHS AFJROTC cadet to cross the finish line, finishing in the top 5 of all cadets. 

Finishing in 1st place for the guidon division, Cadets Miguel Ruiz, Clark Copeland, Kamdyn Smith, and former cadet Ja'Daven Jackson beat the 2nd place team by at least 30 minutes.  Cadets Ronnie Adams, Kingston Brown, Matilyn Bryant, Illyana Curtis, Abigail Cushman, Ka'Honest Daniels, Dylan Glaser, Jennifer Green, Jay Harlan, Hannah Henderson, Esther Hewitt, Aolani Irizarry-Mejias, Rhiley Martinez, Adam Robinson, Carly Shalter, Addyson Turner, Sarah Ward, Zoe Ward, Braxton Waymire, Abigail Woodall, and Richard Young also completed the march in less than 4 hours. 

The JHS Child Development Class assignment couldn't come at a better time (LOL), when Emmalee DuBois, with the help of Riley Rawdon, carried her assigned baby and child seat 7 miles before giving in to exhaustion.

Seventeen more JHS cadets gave up their Saturday and nearly made it to the finish line.  There was an amazing Titan cadet turnout with a total of 43 cadets commemorating WWII's " Bataan Death March.
