The following JHS AFJROTC cadets graduated from the Arkansas Cadet Leadership Course held overnight this summer at Camp Robinson:
- John Birmingham
- Antwain Dednam
- Jiona Lee
- Samuel Palmer
- Marcellous Powe
- Audidrea Rush
- Kaleb Shipman
- Clara Strickland
Our high school cadets joined a total of 60 cadets from Bryant, Cabot, Hope, and Osceola AFJROTC in Arkansas and Tulsa Union AFJROTC in Oklahoma.
Cadets spent the first day at Camp Robinson working on drills, competing to be the "Top Warrior" on the obstacle course and touring the Air National Guard Museum.
On Day 2, cadets traveled to Little Rock AFB to visit the 62nd Airlift Squadron where they learned about Cyber, aircraft engine maintenance, the Mobile Emergency Operation Center, and then toured a C-130 on the tarmac. Afterwards, the cadets visited the 189th Airlift Wing where the Wing Commander and the Command Chief briefed cadets on how to properly plan, organize, and conduct purposeful leadership meetings.
The final day of the course was a visit to the Capitol Building in Little Rock, where cadets placed a wreath at the Vietnam Veteran Monument and then met with Governor Asa Hutchinson. The grand finale was here at JHS where all the cadets walked the stage as graduates. All CLC graduates are now authorized to wear the "leadership" tab on their uniform.
Our very own Cadet Lt Col Kaleb Shipman earned one of the only three "Outstanding Cadet" awards for CLC.
