What do most students do when they return to school after break? The JMS Advanced Choir performed at the Jacksonville Senior & Wellness Activity Center to celebrate the 100th birthday of one of their dear residents. It was such a wonderful celebration!

A new reading program called “Beanstack” that is being implemented at JMS is making a big impact on scholars by creating an eagerness to read. Beanstack is a reading platform that offers special incentives/small prizes for completing different reading challenges throughout the course of the year. Shown in the photos below are 6th & 8th grade scholars from Mrs. Gates’ English Language Arts classes. These scholars earned a fun Robotics/Makerspace Day for meeting their Beanstack reading goals. Special thanks to Mrs. Killingsworth for introducing scholars and staff to the Beanstack program so that the love of reading can continue to flourish at JMS! #readersareleaders
