PBIS FOR PARENTS
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
Each JNPSD school is implementing positive behavior interventions and supports. PBIS is a school-wide system of support that includes proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments. PBIS is built upon an environment of respect and rapport, effective procedures, and effective behavior management. A continuum of positive behavior support for all students within a school is implemented in areas including the classroom and common settings. Each campus has developed campus-wide expectations and established plans to teach, model, and reinforce the expected behaviors.
