Young Minds Shine at JNPSD Chess Tournament
PINEWOOD – The future of chess is bright in the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District, as young strategists from grades 3-5 showcased their critical thinking and problem-solving skills at the annual District Chess Tournament on March 12. Held at Pinewood, the competition saw students engaged in intense matches that tested their patience, strategy, and sportsmanship.
The event highlighted not only the students' talent but also their dedication and hard work in mastering the game of chess. After an exciting day of strategic play, the following students emerged victorious in their respective grade levels:
3rd Grade:

These outstanding young players have earned their place at the upcoming Regional Chess Tournament, scheduled for April 8. Their performance at the district level has demonstrated their ability to think several moves ahead, a skill that will undoubtedly serve them well as they advance to the next stage of competition.
