district conversion charter

District leaders are excited to share that the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District has officially voted to apply for a District Conversion Charter and to move forward with transitioning the Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter School, located at 251 North First Street, into one unified district. On Monday, April 14, 2025, the JNPSD Board of Education voted to repurpose the facility, once acquired, to serve Pre-K, 5th, and 6th grade scholars..

This new school will serve scholars beginning this fall, with a phased approach to grade-level expansion, beginning with 6th grade in the Fall of 2025. Based on parent feedback from both JNPSD and Lighthouse families, the school’s academic focus will center on a S.T.E.A.M. curriculum—Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics.

District leaders are working diligently to ensure a smooth transition and to prepare the campus to welcome scholars for the 2025-2026 school year. We are committed to keeping parents and community members informed and will continue to provide timely updates as we move forward.

Thank you for your continued support as we grow and innovate to better serve our scholars. One City, One District for Every Scholar…
