2022 Jacksonville Sertoma Club Scholarship 

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:

  • T.P. White Commemorative $1,000 Scholarship
  • Martha Boyd  Commemorative $1,000 Scholarship
  • Tucker Weatherford  Commemorative $1,000 Scholarship
  • Tonia Weatherford Commemorative $1,000 scholarship (To be awarded to a graduating senior of Sylvan Hills High School.)
  • Donna Davis Childcare Development Commemorative $1,000 scholarship (Graduating seniors from Jacksonville high schools will be given priority but must major in elementary education or a field related to childcare development. If graduating Jacksonville seniors do not meet criteria, then graduating seniors from other high schools will be considered. )
  • Jim Mongno  Commemorative $1,000 scholarship


ELIGIBILITY: 

  • Any high school senior graduating from a high school in the city limits of Jacksonville and the Arkansas School for the Deaf.
  • Must have a high school grade point average of 2.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale. 
  • Children and grandchildren of active Sertoma members in good standing are eligible no matter the school they attend. 

APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

  • Eligible students must submit to Jacksonville Sertoma Club by April 18, 2022 a completed Jacksonville Sertoma Club scholarship application; high school transcript copy; ACT score copy; 150-word essay; two letters of recommendation.

SELECTION:

  • Selection criteria will be based on scholastic achievement, school involvement, Sertoma club activities, community involvement and financial need. 

NOTIFICATION: 

  • Scholarship recipient will receive notification by Jacksonville Sertoma Club and will be presented a scholarship award certificate at the school award ceremony; if applicable. 

DISBURSEMENT:

Each scholarship awarded shall be up to a total of $1,000 payable as follows: 

First semester check in the amount of $500 and a second semester check, if applicable, in the same amount to be paid to the college or vocational/technical school after the recipient provides registration documentation from college or vocational/technical school along with mailing address for scholarship payment. 

FAILURE TO NOTIFY CLUB OF REQUIRED INFORMATION BY BEGINNING OF SEMESTER OF ATTENDANCE WILL RESULT IN FORFEITURE OF SCHOLARSHIP MONEY.  

OTHER INFORMATION: 

  • The scholarship must be used by recipient to attend on a full-time basis at an Arkansas accredited institute of higher learning.
